Alfred Molina

It looks like the actor is coming back as Doctor Octopus in the sequel to the popular Spider-Man films. The actor confirmed his involvement in an interview with Variety, ostensibly discussing his role in the movie Promising Young Woman, but ended up describing several plot points. He went on to describe himself as Hollywood's worst kept secret, a fact that will probably make his role in Spider-Man: No Way Home a hit with audiences.

While he won't be fighting in the Spider-Man movies, the role of Dr. Octavius is likely to get a lot of attention. Molina was in the film before the Marvel Cinematic Universe was introduced. The film follows Peter Parker's life after he accidentally cracks open the Multiverse by accident. The result is a confrontation between Spider-Man and the evil Electro.

The last movie that featured Foxx was The Amazing Spider-Man 2, and while the film was not a critical flop, it did earn the actor a number of awards. He also plays the voice in Soul, and is repped by CAA, LBI Entertainment, and Ziffren Brittenham. He confirmed the casting on Instagram, but later deleted the post. He is still deciding on which role to pursue.

Jamie Foxx's glowy-headed Electro and Dane DeHaan's zany Harry Osborn are both awful. Nonetheless, both films have been critical successes and should be seen in theaters on October 1, 2013.
